Progress report following the Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals (race 8 of 18) and ahead of the NHRA Sonoma Nationals at Sonoma Raceway

In Denver:
It was a challenge up there; everything was different. We ran really well there the year before, so we came in, set everything up like we did last year, and it worked out well on Friday. Saturday was a crazy day with the weather and everything, and we didn’t qualify well, so we left the track not feeling very good about Sunday. But we went back to basics, looked at things, and came to the track and just did what we thought would be right. It all added up and worked, and things went phenomenally well for Greg. It was a great day.

Overall grade:
If you take Saturday out, I’d say it was an A.

Looking toward Sonoma:
We’ve run well there in the past, won a fair amount of races. It’s always been a good place for us, so I’m excited to go there. There isn’t any particular challenge there for us, we just want to keep making progress.

Sonoma memories:
The schedule used to go Denver, Seattle, then Sonoma. When we swept the swing [in 2004], at that time, Sonoma was the last race of the three. Greg is the only Pro stock driver to ever have swept the swing, so that’s a really good memory.
