This week, NHRA Division 5 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series competitor Hannah Line joins WinLightNews.com as a contributor. Stay tuned for her first-person updates and photos throughout the 2019 racing season.
Hello there, everyone!
My name is Hannah Line. I am 20 years old, and I race a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro in Stock Eliminator. I started drag racing at the young age of just 10 years old.
I started racing in the Summit Racing NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League at my home track, Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minnesota.
The need for speed started way before Jr. dragsters! I grew up watching nearly my whole family race the very competitive class of Stock Eliminator. These members of my family had such an impact on the way I saw drag racing through the eyes of a child.
One of my favorite memories was my dad’s win at the Lucas Oil Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway in 2003. The part I remember most, other than Charlotte Lucas holding me in the winner’s circle, was how happy and excited my dad was. He had so many people standing in his corner that day.
At the end of every day, I remember how important those memories are – and of course, all of the people who are there to help create those memories.
I am so excited to start sharing and expanding my friendships with those of you who will be keeping up with me throughout the 2019 season!
