Sportsman Blog: Hannah Line Sums Up NHRA Brainerd

Eliminations started Friday morning and my first round opponent was Tracy again. I had my game face ready and was .008 on the starting line. It gave me a little bit of an advantage. I went on to win two rounds Saturday before facing Tyler Wudarczyk in the fourth and final round for Saturday. If you know Tyler, he is an amazing racer. I left the starting line and my win light was on. WE WERE RACING SUNDAY!

I wish that I could describe the feeling of racing on Sunday at a national event. It was really cool to see that three of the four semi-finalists were racing on Sunday at a national event for the first time. It was great to see one of us 3 make it to the finals and win. This win was a very special one for Chris Knudsen and his family.

Chris was my opponent in the semifinals match up. I turned it -.015 red to his -.020 red. It was such an emotional loss, but I had nothing to be ashamed of. I was, and am, so proud of the way I drove that weekend. After struggling with my driving for a season or so, it really helped to boost my confidence.

Coming off my performance at the Brainerd Nationals, I felt very confident going into my last few races of the 2019 season. We’ve finished our season now, and I believe I will be a spectator for the rest of the year as I recently started school.

Thank you to all the people that reached out to me following the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals in Brainerd. Your kind words were much appreciated!
